Surayan provides meaningful connection to youth through classical music, while promoting a centred progressive life. Connection to classical music at a very young age is not only vital to bridging the gap between various cultures and between the past and future, but also the growing of a healthy, well rounded human being.
Surayan, a registered trust, is founded in June 2017 by 'Dr. Priyanka
Gulavani', a medical practitioner by profession and a classical vocalist by passion. She was exposed to
classical music at the very young age of four years. Through her rigorous training and practice, she earned
the distiction of a gold medalist in her Masters in Music in 1996. Her music was passed on to her son who
has strong flare for instrumental music excelling in Tabla.
The foundation also organises Indian Classical Music events with the support of renowned artist for
entertainment, social purpose and festivities on the occasion of national and religious festivals. The
foundation is committed to organise/ support musical events around Guru Purnima, Diwali and Uttarayan
Sangeet Mahotsav (Makar Sankranti). It also organises some Sangeet Sabhas (Navonmesh Concerts) for
young artists.
